South Bass Island, Ohio ****************************************************************************** GENERAL INFO: Put-In-Bay is a great little island to visit just off the Sandusky shoreline in Lake Erie. Come for lunch, but be sure to stick around to enjoy the island for the rest of the day. Golf carts can be rented at the airport or there is a shuttle into town for $2 pp one-way. There are a number of shops and restaurants in the downtown area adjacent to Perry's Monument and the public docks. Check out www.putinbay.com and www.put-in-bay.com for more things to do on the island. ****************************************************************************** REMEMBER: Put-In-Bay Airport has a non standard traffic pattern! All traffic patterns are over the water! That means... LEFT traffic for runway 21 RIGHT traffic for runway 3 Remain at least 1,000 feet from Perry's Monument, that's the tower clearly visible in the photos. (The park rangers have been known to record and report N-numbers of violators.) ****************************************************************************** AIR-TO-AIR FREQUENCY: Monitor 123.45 enroute if you want to talk to other Lilly Pilots. Avoid using names and n-numbers for obvious reasons. ****************************************************************************** PARKING: We'll most likely be parking in the grass south of the office/hangar. Landing fee is $10 but may be reduced since we're in the grass. When you go to the office to pay your landing fee, let them know you're with the fly-in and you parked in the grass. They'll tell you if there's a discount and how much you owe. If there is a discount, do NOT go telling pilots who've parked on the asphalt that you received a discount...it just upsets them.
